Kluang Food

So here are 2 places worth visiting in Kluang, just in case you drop by this small town.

The first is KLUANG RAIL COFFEE at the Kluang Train Station. It's been around since 1938, I think.

You do see a lot of old uncles there, which should sorta means in some way that it's good.

I would say it's above average, but not exactly the BEST COFFEE IN MALAYSIA as some might say. Maybe it has gone down in terms of quality since it's so commercialised now, but I think you need to go to Sibu, Sarawak to try its FANTASTIC local coffee. So far, it beats OLD TOWN + KLUANG hands down. Sabah has the best Kopi O.

"Why have we been drinking here the past 70 years?"

"I'm not quite sure myself, maybe it's cuz there really IS no where else to go.."

The roti bun bakar is really worth a try though. I think the kaya is not too sweet, and the butter not too.. buttery, which is just nice, won't get you too jelak.

They also have AWESOME soft boiled eggs. Other than that, the wrapped nasi lemak/mee siam/mee goreng are nothing to shout about. Coffee could be a little stronger, same goes with the tea.

The beef noodles are tasty! This was from Tangkak Beef Noodles, but they say Yean Kee is better, but it only opens from 6pm, so we didn't get to try it.

I guess there's nothing you can't get in KL, really. I still think Penang has the BEST food. OMG why didn't I go..
